P7 Stormont Trip

12th Jun 2018

On Monday 11th June, Primary Seven has the opportunity to attend Stormont, the home of Northern Ireland’s devolved assembly. Although not currently sitting, the building was very busy and we had a tour from Sarah who is part of events and Mr John Stewart our local MLA.

The children had a wide range of excellent questions and discovered lots about this famous building that opened in 1932 and was covered with manure and tar to hide it from German warplanes that flew overhead in World War II.

We also got to see some of the famous artwork that hangs in the corridors and got to see the impressive views of Belfast from the balcony of the Private Members Dining Room.

Why not have a look at some of the photos and see how we got on.

Thank you again to John Stewart MLA for taking us along!
